Industry Notice #11-30 November 18, 2011 For Immediate Release
POSSIBLE CITYWIDE SCHOOL BUS STRIKE WOULD CREATE ADDITIONAL SERVICE DEMAND FOR TAXICAB & FOR-HIRE SERVICE PROVIDERS
Due to the impending potential for a citywide school bus strike that could affect as many as 152,000 schoolchildren and their families, the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) requests that all taxicab and for-hire service providers be prepared for additional service demand and take steps to ensure that as many drivers and vehicles as possible are available and ready to address this anticipated additional demand.
