Best fried chicken in the city

Time to get your finger lickin' on. Fork in the Road takes on the sweet task of seeking out the best fried chicken in the city. It's a tough contest, but they manage to narrow it down to 10 moist, juicy, crispy-skinned winners. The list includes the bird at The Redhead (349 East 13th Street), with its buttermilk brine and greaseless coating; Amy Ruth's (113 West 116th Street) choice of dark or white meat smothered in oregano-rich brown gravy and served with the optional waffle; BonChon (325 Fifth Avenue) for its Korean fried chicken with either sweet soy-garlic or spicy chili glaze; The Commodore (366 Metropolitan Avenue, Brooklyn), where you get three mammoth thighs with cups of sweet, peppery vinegar sauce; and Mitchell's Soul Food (617A Vanderbilt Avenue, Brooklyn) for its black pepper-heavy batter that hasn't changed since 1978. The People's Organization for Progress (POP),  the NJ State Industrial Union Council, , Labor Against War, New Jersey Peace Action, Veterans For Peace, Chapter 21, New Jersey  and others will have a demonstration to protest any U.S. military action against Syria tomorrow, Sunday, September 8, 2013, 1:30pm at the corner of Broad and Market Streets in the heart of downtown Newark, New Jersey.  All POP members and friends are urged to attend.

This week is critical as Congress decides upon the resolution authorizing a US military attack on Syria. POP needs to make its voice heard loud and clear against the proposed attack. Please call your Congressman, US Senator, and the President and tell them that we don't want any US military attack on Syria.

Please make every effort to attend the demonstration. Get there early.  Please wear your POP T-Shirt to the protest.  For further information call (973)801-0001.  Thank you.

Sharpton took to Twitter on Friday to explain that his neutral position in the Democratic mayoral primary was 'not a snub at Bill Thompson.'
